Terms of Service

Last updated: June 2025

Short version: Use WorkLog responsibly. You own your data. We provide the service as-is. Don't abuse it.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using WorkLog ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

WorkLog is a web-based work logging application that allows users to record daily work activities, track time by project, generate timesheets, and use AI-assisted features for entry parsing and summarisation. The Service is provided for personal and professional productivity purposes.

3. User Accounts

To use WorkLog you must create an account with a username and password. You are responsible for:

  • Maintaining the confidentiality of your password
  • All activities that occur under your account
  • Notifying the administrator immediately of any unauthorised use

WorkLog administrators reserve the right to terminate accounts that violate these terms.

4. Your Content

You retain ownership of all work log entries, project names, descriptions, and other content you submit to WorkLog ("Your Content"). By submitting content, you grant WorkLog a limited licence to store and display it to you within the Service.

You are solely responsible for Your Content. You agree not to submit content that is illegal, harassing, or infringes on the rights of others.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree to use WorkLog only for lawful purposes. You must not:

  • Use the Service to store or transmit malicious code
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to other users' data
  • Use automated scripts to excessively load the Service
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer or extract the application source code without authorisation

6. AI Features

WorkLog's AI features are provided as-is with no guarantee of accuracy. AI-generated summaries, parsed entries, and improved descriptions may contain errors — always review AI output before relying on it for billing, payroll, or reporting purposes.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranty of any kind, express or implied. WorkLog makes no warranties that:

  • The Service will be uninterrupted or error-free
  • Defects will be corrected
  • The Service is free of viruses or other harmful components
  • The results of using the Service will meet your requirements

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, WorkLog shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data, loss of profits, or business interruption, arising out of your use of or inability to use the Service.

9. Data Loss

You are responsible for maintaining backups of your work log data. WorkLog is not liable for any loss of data due to database failures, server issues, or other technical problems. We recommend exporting your data periodically using the CSV export feature.

10. Changes to the Service

We reserve the right to modify or discontinue the Service at any time, with or without notice. We are not liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the Service.

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. We will indicate any changes by updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

12. Governing Law

These terms are governed by applicable law. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of the Service shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation before pursuing other remedies.
